PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Originally forming part of the old Brisbane International Airport, the new DHL Distribution Centre is located on a 9,560m2 site, consisting of a warehouse and office development.

    SIGNIFICANT CIVIL ASPECTS

The land surrounding Brisbane Airport is extremely flat, and prone to flooding. BG Civil completed extensive Bulk Earthwork designs to ensure that the DHL Warehouse development would achieve the required flood immunity levels.

      STRUCTURAL SYSTEM

Concrete tilt up panel walls with steel roof and wall framing to warehouse and office areas. Concrete slab on ground.

        STRUCTURAL SIGNIFICANT ASPECTS

Existing in-ground footings were uncovered on site under the proposed building footprint. Working closely with the geotechnical engineer a footing system was designed to avoid removal of the existing deep footings.
