PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Two residential unit developments located beside each other with both sites falling significantly away from the street. Each building incorporates 12 units over three levels and an undercover car park.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
Given the large open span requirements needed for function halls, the use of composite steel and concrete construction was adopted. Suspended floors were also hung off the roof
to further increase the column free space to the ground floors. The use of precast concrete walls were adopted to both reduce construction times and improve site safety.
SIGNIFICANT ASPECTS
These developments are among the last in Brisbane to be approved with a Charged Stormwater system. The steep site, and rejections from the rear neighbours for access, meant the stormwater could not discharge to the kerb without the use of a charged system which “lifts” stormwater approximately 4m to achieve discharge.
