H20 Apartments are residential towers located in Southport. This $100 Million mixed-use development incorporates 356 Residential Apartments and 2,350m2 of Commercial Space spread out over the two towers. Each tower is approximately 24 storeys high.
SIGNIFICANT CIVIL ASPECTS
BG Civil successfully completed the road widening design on Marine Parade, one of Southport’s busiest roads.
The structure comprises of various forms of concrete construction from cast in situ columns, walls and slabs to precast concrete wall panels and post-tensioned transfer slabs.
BG Civil was responsible for all civil operational works submissions, including;
- Intersection re-design at the Corner of Nind Street
- & Gold Coast Highway, to incorporate a cycling lane.
- Sewer Diversion,
- External Pavement Design,
- Externals Drainage Works,
- Detailed Design of Stormwater Quality Devices,
- Erosion and Sediment.
SIGNIFICANT STRUCTURAL ASPECTS
Retention walls were required to the entire perimeter of the two-storey basement excavation. Highly corrosive exposed environment meant careful detailing to ensure durability. Construction sequences a priority due to two towers being simultaneously constructed. Minimization of scaffolding required to external walls due to precast construction.
