SIGNIFICANT CIVIL ASPECTS
BG Civil successfully set the building levels and pavement grades to ensure that the development would be positioned above any localised flooding, whilst also ensuring that Australian Standard – Design for access and mobility was carefully adhered to, ensuring access for all abilities.
A combination of pre-stressed, precast, cast-in and normally reinforced concrete elements were used in the footings, walls, stairs and suspended slabs, with integrated brick and metal sheet cladding. Structural Steel with cold formed purlins were used to frame the roof, walkways and awnings structures.
SIGNIFICANT STRUCTURAL ASPECTS
Accounting for shrinkage and differential movement in connection detailing at junctions between new precast, pre-stressed and with existing structures while not adversely affecting the construction methodology.
