PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Peak Apartments is a residential apartment complex built to cater for the population increase in the area due to the mining boom. The complex includes 27 residential units, a ground floor commercial tenancy and undercover car park.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

This was a fairly straight forward Hydraulic Services design utilising a mixture of Single Stack and Elevated Pipework systems. The additional height gained in the car park.

Due to the slope of the finished surface levels allowed the vast majority of the gravity systems, Sanitary Sewerage and Stormwater, to be installed suspended in the car park.

SIGNIFICANT ASPECTS

Through negotiations with the client and close co-ordination with the architect, the central stair design was modified to include an extra fire door which in turn allowed the building to be protected by ground level fire hydrants. This achievement eliminated the need for hydrant, hose reels and test drains on the upper levels.
